From the 30th May 2021 until 6th June 2021, South Africa is designated as Child Protection Week. Living Hope’s Life Skill Educators worked together with Family Strengthening Programme to spread the word about the challenges families are facing in regards to Gender Based Violence and Bullying.
Child Protection Week, Living Hope planned special, interactive informational sessions with kids across Peninsula.
Child Protection Day One – Masiphumelele
Living Hope’s Life Skill Educators spent some time in pre-schools and then had an afternoon programme.
Child Protection Day Two – Ocean View
Living Hope’s Life Skill Educators spent the day at Marine Primary’s Grade 4 and 5 students. And in the afternoon, Family Strengthening had an outside event. The message being “STOPPING BULLYING ANF GENDER BASED VIOLENCE” was shared in the middle of the community.
Child Protection Day Three – Red Hill
Living Hope’s Life Skills Educators spent time in preschools sharing about “Be a Buddy, Not a Bully” The afternoon programme had over 75 children who heard the message about Bullying and Gender Base Violence!
Child Protection Day Four – Capricorn
Living Hope’s Life Skill Educators were in a pre-school as well as a Primary School talking to Grade 3-4 students. The afternoon programme was held in a park in Capricorn with over 10 children and a large number of community members in attendance, listening to the message about Gender Based Violence and Bullying.
