Monday 22nd February, Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga released the matric examination marks for the class of 2020, a year that will go down in history as the most abnormal year in time.

Parents are urged to speak openly with their children about their feelings as class of 2020 had to adapt to online learning and little to no contact with their teachers. How students can get access to their matric results:

  • Students can get their results directly fro their schools at 12pm today.
  • Students can log onto the Department of Basic Educations website.
  • News24 will be publishing results.
  • Students can receive their 2020 matric result by SMSing their exam number to 45856, with their exam number at hand. SMSs will cost you R1.50 per SMS.

The matric results for 2020 has a group achievement pass rate of 76.2%, a 5.1 percentage drop compared to 2019.
